BionIT Labs is seeking a Director, US Operations to play an integral role in commercializing our first medical technology product — one we believe will disrupt the prosthetic market. We are looking for an exceptional operations professional with a customer-centric attitude and proven track record of successfully planning and executing prosthetic holistic support strategies.


The Director, US Operations must be a strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically. This role will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing all support activities related to the sale and distribution of the company's prosthetic technology. The Director, US Operations will play the lead role in setting up the US headquarters including the functions of customer support, training support, technical support, logistics and facilities; maintain updated knowledge of the prosthetic industry and competitive products; liaise with HQ in Italy to ensure best in class customer support; and help execute on a winning go-to-market plan.


The ideal candidate is a self-starter and team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who acts with integrity and professionalism. Candidates must be comfortable working in a small, but rapidly-growing company pursuing an aggressive commercialization timeline.


The Director, US Operations will report to BionIT Labs’ CEO. This is a full-time role with US headquarters being planned in Texas.



Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and implement business operations and policies that promote the company culture and vision, and set the company up for a successful US market launch.
  • Secure the functionality of the business to drive and support the company’s growth plans.
  • Implement procedures to create a holistic customer support structure inclusive of technical support, customer support, shipping and logistics, training programs, and support of sales and marketing efforts.
  • Set up and manage US facilities.
  • Manage, supervise and organize the importing, logistics and shipping services.
  • Manage, supervise and organize the carrying out of operations relating to technical assistance interventions, differentiating the flows between operations to be carried out in the USA and operations that require return to Italy
  • Provide training, presentations and demonstrations to BionIT Labs’ customers on application and use of our technology using effective communication and training techniques.
  • Partner with HQ Marketing, Engineering, Quality Assurance & Regulatory and other stakeholders to execute a highly successful go-to-market program
  • Maintain updated knowledge of the prosthetic industry and competitive products
  • Understand and comply with all applicable quality and regulatory guidelines
  • Dedicated budget preparation after having identified the operations’ objectives and strategies.
  • Monitor results, measuring customer satisfaction and engagement, and other relevant KPIs, to refine existing customer support strategies. The data collected will then be inserted into specific reports, to be presented to management.



Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience 
  • At least 4 years of experience in prosthetics
  • Extensive and proven experience with establishing strategic and tactical support activities that address the needs of the healthcare practitioner and consumer/patient
  • Ability to develop effective communications to clinicians and practice managers 
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically, possess strong communication skills and act as a collaborative team member
  • Hand-on experience in ordinary everyday activities of the sales department, with proactive problem resolution
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and presentation tools (powerpoint or similar)
  • Demonstrated success supporting high end technology products into prosthetic practices 
  • Experience launching a new prosthetic product is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of upper limb prosthetic industry main players and products is preferred



The compensation package includes a competitive base salary plus variable components, reflective of the candidate's level of seniority, along with an attractive stock option plan.
